Phuoc Hoa Rubber to diversify 15,600 hectares into industrial and high-tech farming
Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Company (PHR) is planning a major strategic shift for its 15,600 hectares of agricultural land in Vietnam. According to General Director Tran Hoang Giang, the company intends to move away from long-term rubber replanting in Vietnam, focusing instead on rubber operations in Cambodia.
The company plans to diversify its domestic land use into industrial zones, high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, and logistics. Of the 5,669 hectares earmarked for direct investment or control, approximately 2,612 hectares are designated for industrial zones and 2,041 hectares for high-tech agriculture. Additionally, the company has allocated land for solar power, logistics, and industrial clusters.
As part of its high-tech agriculture initiative, PHR plans to cultivate bananas, which are estimated to yield 6 to 8 times higher profits than rubber. The company has submitted a proposal to its parent company, Vietnam Rubber Group, for an initial 300-hectare banana plantation project. If approved, the company expects to begin banana cultivation between December 2026 and January 2027.
