Phương Mỹ Chi releases new album blending folk and contemporary music

Singer Phương Mỹ Chi has released her second studio album, ‘Dân Chơi Dân Ca’, which integrates traditional Vietnamese musical elements into contemporary styles. The album explores various cultural heritages, including Chèo, Xẩm, and Khmer Nam Bộ music, aiming to bring folk traditions closer to younger audiences.

The album features collaborations with several artists, most notably Nguyễn Hùng on the track ‘Có Nhau’, produced by DTAP. Following the release, the album and its singles have seen significant traction on digital music charts and streaming platforms.

In other music news, Vicky Nhung and Chu Thúy Quỳnh have been selected to perform the official Vietnamese version of the Chinese song ‘50 năm về sau’ (50 Years Later) after successful copyright negotiations by IC Music.
