Phuriwat Jaisamran flags budget irregularities in police aviation division

Phuriwat Jaisamran, a Bangkok MP from the People's Party, has raised concerns regarding budget irregularities within the Royal Thai Police Aviation Division during a parliamentary debate on the 2027 fiscal year budget.

During the discussion of Article 27, Phuriwat highlighted several discrepancies in proposed expenditures. In a 50 million baht drainage improvement project, he noted that wiring costs were estimated at 1.48 million baht, roughly double the 600,000 baht quoted by private contractors. Additionally, CCTV server software was budgeted at 2 million baht, which is nearly four times higher than the 450,000 baht offered by private competitors.

Furthermore, a 75.8 million baht shooting range renovation project drew scrutiny due to specialized material costs. Phuriwat pointed out that bulletproof rubber sheets were budgeted at 12,300 baht per piece, significantly higher than the global market price of approximately 1,300 baht per piece. He also questioned the pricing of 8.2mm bulletproof steel plates and the lack of detailed specifications for a 14.4 million baht target rail system.
