Phyna and Nkechi Blessing to face off in Lagos celebrity boxing match

Nigerian influencers and entertainers Phyna and Nkechi Blessing are scheduled to face each other in a celebrity boxing match on October 1, 2026. The event, part of the ‘Chaos in the Ring’ series, will take place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos and is expected to be broadcast on DAZN and SuperSport.

The announcement follows a period of public tension between the two women on social media. Nkechi Blessing, a Nollywood actress, previously criticized Phyna, a former Big Brother Naija winner, for her social media conduct. Phyna responded by contesting the public criticism and referencing past disagreements regarding a film project.

Organizers, Balmoral Group Promotions, have leveraged the online friction to promote the upcoming bout. While the specific rules and number of rounds have not yet been disclosed, the match marks a transition from digital disputes to a physical sporting confrontation.
