Physical AI and robotics expansion through TD SYNNEX and KUKA partnership

The robotics and automation sector is seeing significant developments in the integration of Physical AI. Amulya Vishwanath, founder and managing partner of Techable VC and former Nvidia executive, describes the current state of robotics as a foundational phase, comparing it to building with Lego bricks. She argues that Physical AI extends beyond robotics into materials, medicine, and manufacturing, challenging the notion that a single generalist foundation model will revolutionize the field in the same way ChatGPT did for chatbots.

In a parallel commercial development, TD SYNNEX has entered a distribution agreement with KUKA Group to accelerate the adoption of autonomous mobile robots (AMR). The partnership aims to bridge the gap between Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) by combining robotics with AI, cloud, and edge computing. The rollout will initially launch in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and the Benelux region, with plans to expand to other markets in upcoming quarters.
