Physical exercise strategies for joint health and adolescent development
Experts suggest that different types of physical activity offer unique benefits for joint health and physical development. For adults, a combination of walking, running, and weight training can be effective. While walking is a gentle option for beginners, running can be safe if progression in distance and intensity is gradual. Weight training is particularly noted for strengthening the muscles that support the body, thereby reducing the load on joints.
For adolescents aged 12 to 16, specialists recommend participating in multiple sports rather than early specialization in a single discipline. Engaging in various activities helps develop coordination, strength, and speed. Conversely, intensive training in a single sport at a young age can lead to significant psychological stress and an increased risk of injuries, as the physical load may exceed the capacity of immature bones and joints.
