Pi Network announces Protocol 28 upgrade and Open Standard partnership

Pi Network is preparing for a significant technical update with the scheduled launch of Protocol 28 on its mainnet on October 16. To facilitate this, node operators are required to complete an upgrade by October 13.

In addition to the protocol upgrade, Pi Network has announced a partnership with Open Standard, the company behind the Open USD (OUSD) stablecoin. This collaboration aims to explore how a stablecoin could support rewards and utility within the Pi ecosystem.

Market analysts are monitoring the PI token's price performance as it navigates a recent downtrend. As of early October, the token has been trading in a range between approximately $0.08 and $0.10. Breaking above the $0.0917 level is viewed as a potential indicator of a trend reversal, with subsequent resistance levels identified at $0.0975 and $0.1003.
