Pi Network completes final testnet stage for Protocol V27 upgrade
Pi Network has reached the final testnet stage for its Protocol V27 upgrade. The protocol has stabilized on Testnet 2, processing approximately 250 transactions per block with no recorded failures. This milestone marks the final technical step before the upgrade moves toward Mainnet deployment.
The V27 upgrade is designed to enhance transaction authorization, provide safer and more flexible authentication for smart contracts, and offer developers greater infrastructure flexibility for future applications. Mainnet node operators are currently required to migrate to the new version using Pi Node Docker V27.1.0.
Alongside the technical rollout, the project reported progress in its identity verification process, clearing over 417,000 KYC flags. While the protocol upgrade has advanced, a specific deployment date for the Mainnet transition has not yet been confirmed by the Core Team.
