Pi Network node upgrade drives 9% PI token surge and launches app‑staking feature

Pi Network upgraded its mainnet to Protocol v25, with the majority of node operators completing the update. The upgrade was taken as a bullish catalyst, pushing the PI token up more than 9% to around $0.14 and briefly flipping market sentiment to positive before easing to neutral. Analysts note that further price movement will likely track Bitcoin’s direction.

Separately, Pi Network introduced a redesigned Ecosystem Directory Staking feature for its roughly 60 million users. The tool lets users stake PI tokens to increase an app’s visibility within the directory, aiming to improve discovery and support developer growth. Staked tokens are returned to users after the staking period ends.
