Pi Network sets Aug. 11 deadline for Protocol 26 Mainnet upgrade
Pi Network has announced an August 11 deadline for its Protocol 26 Mainnet upgrade. Node operators who fail to complete the update will lose Mainnet connectivity until the upgrade is applied, effectively cutting them off from the network.
Protocol 26 is the penultimate upgrade before the planned Protocol 27 and underpins three products launched in June 2026: PiVerify, an identity‑verification service that has processed over 18 million verifications in 200 countries; SoloHost, a distributed‑computing platform that lets node operators provide spare compute power for AI workloads; and Pi Sign‑in, a login option for third‑party sites. All three require a stable, current Mainnet protocol to function at scale.
At the time of reporting, Pi’s token trades around $0.083, a modest 1.13 % gain, hovering near its all‑time‑low zone but still below major exponential‑moving averages.
