Piła and Świdnica launch EU‑funded urban redevelopment projects
The city of Piła has begun preparations to revitalize its central Victory Square. About half of the 25 million‑zloty project is financed by European Union funds, with archaeological investigations scheduled for the next four months before construction starts in September. The overhaul will create a new cultural and recreational space, including a water feature, pergola, pocket parks, a dog‑run, upgraded lighting and a modernized 1942 underground shelter, with completion aimed for 2026.
In Świdnica, a multi‑site parking expansion is under way, adding 175 new parking spaces across six locations, including schools, a hospital and a kindergarten. The €‑equivalent 2.9 million‑zloty investment is also EU‑funded, with contractor OLTOM overseeing the work. The first two stages are scheduled for completion by November 2026, and a larger 84‑space lot on Okrężna Street is planned thereafter.
