Piła railway station to undergo major reconstruction and tunnel expansion

Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. has signed an agreement with TPF Sp. z o.o. to prepare design documentation for a major reconstruction of the railway station in Piła. The project, co-financed by the City of Piła, aims to improve passenger accessibility and connectivity.

The planned works include the reconstruction of existing underpass tunnels and the construction of new sections to better connect the Śródmieście and Staszyce districts. Additionally, platforms 2, 4, and 6 will be rebuilt and raised to facilitate easier boarding and exiting. The investment also covers the installation of new passenger information systems, including displays and audio equipment, to ensure the station is fully accessible to people with limited mobility.

The design documentation is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2028, with construction potentially beginning in 2029, subject to securing further funding.
