Piacenza credit and private sector loans increase in Q2 2026
Credit activity in the province of Piacenza showed growth during the second quarter of 2026. Bank loans to the non-financial private sector increased by 3.5% compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of 6.441 billion euros. When including 135 million euros reserved for financial companies and public administrations, the total value of credit reaches 6.575 billion euros.
According to data from the Emilia Chamber of Commerce Study Office based on Bank of Italy reports, the increase affected both businesses and households. Loans to businesses rose by 3.4% to 3.634 billion euros, while loans to families increased by 3.6% to 2.786 billion euros. Within the business sector, medium and large enterprises received the largest share of credit, accounting for 78.3% of the total with 2.846 billion euros, representing a 5.3% growth. Conversely, loans to small businesses fell by 2.6% to 788 million euros.
Economic sectors showed varied dynamics. The services sector was the most expansive, with a 6.5% increase to 1.416 billion euros. Manufacturing saw a moderate rise of 0.9% to 1.329 billion euros, while the construction sector experienced a decline of 2.6%, falling to 213 million euros.
