Patti: Investigation launched after child falls from rally stage

A six-year-old boy, Andrea, is showing signs of improvement after falling from a modular stage in Patti Marina while riding a bicycle. The boy, who was hospitalized at the Policlinico di Messina following a serious brain hemorrhage, has been extubated and has begun to speak.

The stage, which had been used for the Tindari Rally, has been seized by authorities. The Procura di Patti is investigating the incident to determine why the structure had not yet been dismantled. Four individuals have received notices of investigation (avvisi di garanzia) for suspected culpable serious injury, including the owner of the company that provided the stage, two event organizers, and the Mayor of Patti, Gianluca Bonsignore. The Mayor was notified to allow him to participate in technical assessments and clarify the safety and maintenance protocols regarding the structure.
