Piacenza officials meet to address poverty and social vulnerability

Regional Councilor Elena Mazzoni visited Piacenza to address poverty and socio-economic vulnerability. Accompanied by Municipal Welfare Councilor Nicoletta Corvi, the visit focused on coordinating essential services for marginalized populations.

A central part of the meeting took place at the Emporio Solidale in via I Maggio. The discussion highlighted the growing number of families in need and the importance of local support networks. Councilor Corvi noted that while the number of families facing difficulties has increased over the years, the community has responded through institutional synergy and citizen generosity, including donations of clothing, school supplies, and basic necessities.

The meeting included representatives from various local organizations, such as Caritas Diocesana, the Enrico Corti Research Foundation, and the Papa Giovanni XXIII social center cooperative, to strengthen the collaborative response to social fragility.
