Piacenza to host Aeronautica Militare Balloon Cup in October 2026
The third edition of the Aeronautica Militare Balloon Cup is scheduled to take place from October 16 to 18, 2026, at the San Damiano Military Airport in Piacenza, Italy.
Organized by the Ministry of Defense, Defense Services, and the Italian Air Force, the event is an international FAI Category 2 competition. It will feature 32 hot air and gas balloons from across the globe. In addition to the balloon competitions, the event will include performances by the Frecce Tricolori national aerobatic team and the Legend Formation, which showcases a mix of historical and modern training aircraft.
The festival will occupy a 19-hectare area, offering public activities such as flight simulators, virtual reality experiences, historical aircraft exhibitions, and educational workshops for children. Attendees can also participate in tethered balloon flights.
