Piambello cycling path project nears completion

The “I laghi in bicicletta” (The Lakes on a Bicycle) development strategy is nearing completion, aiming to connect Lake Ceresio to Valganna and eventually to Lake Maggiore through a dedicated cycling and pedestrian network.

Paolo Sartorio, president of the Comunità Montana del Piambello, and Loredana Bonora, Mayor of Cuasso al Monte, reported that 3.5 km of construction is currently underway between Porto Ceresio and Bisuschio. A key milestone includes the construction of an underpass near the SS344 at Bisuschio, scheduled for completion in September. The project, co-financed by the Lombardy Region, is expected to be ready for public use by next spring.

Once the main works are finished, the Municipality of Cuasso al Monte plans to requalify local roads and implement enhancement works for the path to improve quality of life and boost local tourism.
