Pianist Fülöp Ránki to perform Franz Liszt programme

Pianist Fülöp Ránki will perform a concert exclusively featuring the compositions of Franz Liszt. The programme highlights the diverse stylistic range of Liszt’s later years, moving between intimate, religious, and contemplative works such as ‘Sancta Dorothea’ and ‘Recueillement’, and more demonic, virtuosic character pieces.

The repertoire includes ‘Mephisto Waltz No. 3’, ‘Mephisto Polka’, and ‘Czárdás macabre’, which are noted for their dark tones and swirling rhythms. The performance is scheduled to conclude with the ‘Spanish Rhapsody’. Ránki, a prominent soloist and teacher at the Liszt Academy, is presenting this programme through the Liszt Ferenc Memorial Museum and Research Centre.
