Pianist Mengfei Gu to perform recital at Fundec

Japanese pianist Mengfei Gu, currently based in Germany, will perform a recital at the Fundação de Desenvolvimento Cultural de Sorocaba (Fundec) this Thursday at 8:00 PM. The event is part of Fundec's August programming, held in partnership with the Sorocaba City Hall through the Secretariat of Culture.

The repertoire spans various musical eras, including Romanticism, Impressionism, and contemporary works. Gu will perform pieces by Franz Liszt, Claude Debussy, Franz Schubert, and Zoltán Kodály, as well as her own 2025 composition, ‘Händel-Reflexionen’.

Originally from Osaka, Gu received her musical training across Asia and Europe, studying at institutions such as the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg and the Anton Rubinstein Akademie. She has received international recognition through various competitions and currently serves as the artistic director for the NetteKlassik concert series in Germany.
