Pianists Cesare Picco and Uri Caine scheduled for performances in Italy

jazz piano classical music improvisation Naples Rome

Several prominent pianists are scheduled to perform in Italy, blending jazz, classical, and improvisational styles.

In Rome, Cesare Picco will perform at the Pantheon on October 3 as part of the Piano City Roma festival. Picco, a composer and improviser, will provide a preview of his original music from the upcoming EP ‘Edge – Suoni dalla soglia’, set to be released by Decca Records.

In Naples, American pianist Uri Caine will perform at Villa Pignatelli on September 30. His solo performance, titled ‘Change!’, is inspired by his work ‘The Passion of Octavius Catto’, an oratorio commemorating the life of African American civil rights activist Octavius Catto. Caine’s musical style is noted for its eclecticism, merging influences from Bach and Mozart with jazz and hip-hop.
