Piano di Sorrento faces extended internet and mobile outage, SIAE offices offline

Residents of Piano di Sorrento have been without reliable internet and mobile service for more than ten days, with the worst disruption concentrated on Via San Michele where the offices of the Società Italiana degli Autori ed Editori (SIAE) have been completely offline. The outage has halted everyday activities for citizens, professionals, merchants and other users who rely on telecommunications for their work and public services.

The Italian communications regulator AGCOM stipulates that users can claim compensation for prolonged service failures. Claimants must submit a written complaint to the provider, and the operator must pay a daily indemnity for each workday the fault exceeds the standard 2‑3 day repair window. Affected parties may also pursue collective claims through the ConciliaWeb platform or consumer associations, and seek additional damages for demonstrable economic loss.
