Piastri wins Devilbend Golf Club Handicap at Mornington

The horse Piastri secured an immediate victory for new trainer Gavin Bedggood at Mornington, winning the Devilbend Golf Club Handicap (1200m) on Saturday. The gelding, which was previously managed by the Ciaron Maher stable, was purchased via an online sale approximately two and a half weeks ago.

Ridden by Blake Shinn, Piastri ($8) won by a long neck ahead of Space Rider ($14), with Ferivia ($17) finishing third. Trainer Bedggood noted that the Soft 5 track conditions and the horse's favorable draw contributed to the success. Following this win, Bedggood plans to allow the horse a period of rest at the beach before monitoring weather conditions for future entries.
