Piauí authorities report drug seizure and child abuse arrest

Authorities in Piauí, Brazil, have reported two separate criminal incidents involving minors.

In Parnaíba, a 16-year-old girl was apprehended by the ROCAM motorcycle police unit in the Santa Luzia neighborhood. During the intervention, officers recovered 208 stones of crack cocaine, a portion of cocaine, R$ 294 in small denominations, a mobile phone, and a handmade weapon. The teenager was taken to the Parnaíba Flagrante Central, and a man present at the scene was also detained after identifying himself as a drug user.

In a separate case, the Piauí Civil Police, through the Child and Adolescent Protection Station (DPCA), arrested 24-year-old Fabian Thamyllys Ferreira de Sousa. She is accused of assaulting her 8-year-old stepdaughter, who is suffering from terminal cancer. The incident was reported by medical staff monitoring the child. While medical reports suggest the child suffered physical aggression that may have worsened her condition, the suspect's lawyer maintains her innocence, stating she denies all allegations.
