Piauí Governor Rafael Fonteles held ceremonies to award the Ordem Estadual do Mérito Renascença, recognizing individuals for their contributions to the development of the state and Brazil. The honors were distributed across multiple events as part of the celebrations for the 204th anniversary of Piauí's adherence to Brazil's independence.

In Parnaíba, 27 individuals were honored in various degrees, including Knight, Officer, and Commander. Recipients included professionals from education, culture, public security, and entrepreneurship. Notable honorees included Maria José de Sousa Silva, a shellfish gatherer, and Laélia de Araújo Pinto, president of the Association of Shellfish Gatherers and Fileteiras of Luís Correia. The ceremony also recognized Diva Carvalho de Vasconcelos, the State Secretary for Women, and members of the Brazilian Navy.

A subsequent ceremony in Teresina at the OAB-PI auditorium honored 29 additional personalities. These recipients represented diverse sectors such as health, law, communication, and family farming. Governor Fonteles described the award as a tribute to the “heroes and heroines of the present” who positively impact the lives of the population.
