Piauí launches major public sector hiring contests

The Polícia Militar do Piauí (PMPI) opened registrations for a public security exam offering 1,001 positions, including 500 immediate soldier vacancies, 500 reserve spots and one chaplain role. Applicants must hold a university degree, be 18‑35 years old, possess a driver’s licence and meet height and other statutory requirements. Salaries range from R$ 4,896.84 to R$ 9,793.54. The selection process begins with an objective test and essay on 23 August 2026 in Teresina, followed by health, physical, psychological and social assessments. Registration closes on 22 July 2026 via the Fundação Carlos Chagas portal.

Separately, the municipality of Tanque do Piauí announced a contest for 50 municipal jobs covering areas such as internal audit, education, health, taxation, environmental monitoring and technical services. Applications are accepted from 25 June to 20 July 2026 through the Instituto Legatus platform, with fees ranging from R$ 85 to R$ 140. The written exam is scheduled for 30 August 2026, and initial salaries vary between R$ 1,621 and R$ 3,036 depending on the role.
