Piauí Military Police to increase security for All Souls Day
The Piauí Military Police (PM-PI) will launch Operation Dia de Finados on November 2 to provide reinforced ostensive policing throughout the state. The operation aims to prevent crimes and maintain public order during the period of increased movement as citizens visit cemeteries to honor deceased loved ones.
According to Colonel James Sean, head of the General Operations Department (DGO), the operational plan is tailored to the specific characteristics and expected visitor flow of each location. Security efforts will focus on cemetery access points, parking lots, and nearby roads.
Authorities are advising visitors to remain vigilant with personal belongings and to avoid leaving valuables exposed inside vehicles. The police emphasized that public collaboration is essential for the success of these preventive security measures.
