Piauí police arrest suspect in murder of Sergeant José Arnóbio

Authorities in Piauí have arrested Lucas da Silva Oliveira, the suspect accused of murdering 3rd Sergeant José Arnóbio Farias Cardoso. The incident occurred in Parnaíba after a vehicle collision involving a motorcycle. Security footage captured the suspect attacking the officer, stealing his weapon, and fatally shooting him in the head.

Following the murder, intensive police operations were launched in Parnaíba and Luís Correia. These operations resulted in the deaths of three other suspects during confrontations with the Military Police. Additionally, several individuals have been detained, including the suspect's partner, Iara Maria Lima, who is suspected of involvement in aiding the fugitive.
