PIB Fact Check debunks viral MUDRA loan approval messages

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check agency has debunked viral messages circulating on WhatsApp claiming that MUDRA loan applications have been approved.

The agency clarified that MUDRA is a refinancing institution and does not provide loans directly to micro-entrepreneurs or individuals. Furthermore, the government does not use social media platforms to send loan approval notifications, nor does it utilize agents or intermediaries to facilitate these loans.

To apply for MUDRA loans, individuals should visit the Udyamimitra portal or contact branches of banks, Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), or Microfinance Institutions (MFIs). The public is advised to verify information through the official PIB Fact Check website or contact their official channels to avoid falling victim to misinformation.
