Pica siblings win Tarapacá Regional Senior Cueca Championship

Cueca Regional Championship Adulto Mayor Pica Tarapacá

Siblings Angélica Bustillos Ariste and Manuel Bustillos Ariste, representing the commune of Pica, have been crowned champions of the 2026 Regional Senior Cueca Championship. The event took place at the Salón Jorge Iturra in Iquique and featured participants from Iquique, Alto Hospicio, and Pica.

Following a technical evaluation by a jury focusing on rhythm, choreography, and stage expression, the Bustillos siblings secured first place. The competition was presided over by the Regional Presidential Delegate of Tarapacá, Adriana Tapia.

As regional winners, the pair will represent the Tarapacá Region in the XXVI National Senior Cueca Championship ‘Luisa Riquelme Aravena’. This national competition is scheduled to be held on September 26 and 27, 2026, in the commune of Tomé, Biobío Region.
