Picatinny Arsenal hosts junior police academy visit to EOD lab

Approximately two dozen teenagers from the Woodland Park Junior Police Academy visited the Picatinny Arsenal to observe modern Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technology and training.

During the visit to the DEVCOM Armaments Center’s EOD Technology Division, students were introduced to specialized equipment designed to mitigate explosive threats and reduce human risk. Demonstrations included robotic quadrupeds equipped with sensors for reconnaissance and surveillance, as well as heavy wearable protective suits used to shield technicians from blast fragments and overpressure.

The program also included weapons safety overviews and tactical night vision training provided by the Picatinny Arsenal Police Department to demonstrate how low-light technology improves situational awareness in the field.
