Piccolo Teatro Città di Chioggia reaches FITA Veneto theatre finals

The Piccolo Teatro Città di Chioggia has advanced to the finals of the 2026 FITA Veneto Regional Amateur Theatre Grand Prize. The company will represent the province of Venice in the competition.

On September 5, the company will perform Carlo Goldoni’s classic comedy, ‘Le Baruffe Chiozzotte’, directed by Pierluca Donin. The performance is scheduled for 21:00 at the Cortile del Monastero di Santa Caterina as part of the ‘Cronache d’Acqua Dolce e Salata’ festival. The event is currently sold out and will be evaluated by a regional FITA jury.

The production features a visual restyling by costume designer Antonia Munaretti, supported by the Fondazione di Venezia and the Fondazione Clodiense ETS. This update focuses on color distinctions and fabric choices to characterize the two opposing families in the play.

This stage of the competition is part of the ninth edition of the regional prize. Winners of this phase gain access to the 2027 national finals of the Gran Premio Del Teatro Amatoriale.
