Picerno: Ticket ban for Bari residents at Sorrento-Altamura match

Authorities have banned ticket sales to residents of the province of Bari for the upcoming Serie C football match between Sorrento and Altamura, scheduled for October 31 at the Donato Curcio stadium in Picerno.

The decision, issued by the Prefect of Potenza, Michele Campanaro, follows security concerns raised by the Committee for the Analysis of Security in Sporting Events (CASMS). The measure is a response to violent clashes during a previous match between Scafatese and Altamura on September 27, where supporters engaged in mutual provocations, threw explosives and blunt objects, and damaged stadium barriers.

Law enforcement also had to intervene during the movement of fans on shared travel routes. To prevent similar disturbances and ensure public order during the match and subsequent travel, the ban applies to all physical and online ticket distribution channels for Bari residents. Security checks will be conducted at stadium gates to verify residency.
