PICK Szeged exits Champions League after draw with GOG

PICK Szeged has been eliminated from the Champions League following a 33-33 draw against GOG. Despite a significant comeback attempt in front of 5,082 spectators, the result was insufficient for the Hungarian club to advance, moving them instead to the EHF European League.

Head coach Michael Apelgren defended his players, stating they remained concentrated and fought until the end. Following the match, the club issued an official statement addressing fans. The club noted that while they intend to evaluate their professional work and results to determine future tasks, they are currently undergoing a process of generational change and restructuring that requires patience and trust.

While some supporters have called for drastic changes, the club emphasized the importance of integrating young players with experienced teammates to build a cohesive team for the future.
