Pickering crash involving toddler leads to Highway 401 closure

A single-vehicle crash in Pickering led to the closure of eastbound lanes on Highway 401 near Brock Road. The accident, which occurred around 3 p.m., involved a vehicle in the express lanes.

A one-year-old child was airlifted to a trauma centre following the collision and was reported to be in stable condition. The child's mother, the driver of the vehicle, was also hospitalized with minor injuries. The Ontario Provincial Police's Highway Safety Division advised motorists to avoid the area while investigations were conducted and vehicles were cleared from the roadway.
