Pickering Interfaces launches modular 65-217 LXI matrix
Pickering Interfaces has introduced the 65-217, a modular 2A Ethernet-controlled LXI matrix designed for automated test systems. Built for the 65-200 LXI chassis platform, the module allows engineers to increase matrix capacity as testing requirements evolve without replacing the entire switching system.
Each plug-in module provides a 64x8, 1-pole matrix. Up to six modules can be installed in a single 19-inch, 2U chassis, enabling a maximum configuration of 384x8. The system uses software to manage path-identification offsets, allowing multiple modules to operate as a single large matrix rather than requiring independent programming for each section.
The architecture features a dual Y-axis analog bus, which allows different external instruments to access separate portions of the matrix or enables the system to be configured as two independent matrices. The design supports RF crosstalk measurements on unterminated signal paths, making it suitable for aerospace and automotive applications. To minimize downtime, modules are front-loaded for easy replacement, and the system includes Built-In Relay Self-Test (BIRST) capabilities to identify worn or failed relays.
