Pickleball sees global growth in clubs and facility demand
Pickleball continues to see significant growth and community integration across various regions. In the Philippines, searches for places to play have surged by 3,870% over two years, while the number of organized pickleball clubs has increased more than eightfold since 2023.
In North America, the sport is driving local community engagement and infrastructure development. In Philadelphia, CityPickle is launching a seasonal outdoor pop-up at Dilworth Park in partnership with Visit Delaware. Meanwhile, in Canada, the PA Picklers in Port Alberni held their first annual tournament, raising $140,000 for new courts, and Prince Edward County is holding additional public talks regarding proposed courts in Delhi Park.
Local municipalities and organizations are also utilizing the sport for fundraising and structured play. The City Schools Foundation in Murfreesboro is hosting a tournament to benefit students and teachers, and the Pelican Lake Pickleball Association is conducting fundraisers to complete new community courts in Orr. Other regional developments include a new ladder program in Mechanicsville, Maryland, and community advocacy efforts by the Pajarito Pickleball Club in New Mexico.
