Pickleball expands through new competitive tours in Venezuela and Spain

Pickleball is seeing increased organization and competitive growth through new regional initiatives. In Venezuela, Pickletour Venezuela, led by directors Gonzalo Torres and Frank Penoth, is establishing a formal competitive structure. The organization has already held more than six tournaments and utilizes an automated platform to track player rankings. To ensure international validity, the initiative has partnered with the U.S.-based DUPR platform. Despite growth, the community faces infrastructure challenges, particularly a limited availability of courts in Caracas.

In Spain, the Top Pickleball Tour 2026 recently concluded its first event in Gijón. The tournament crowned several champions across multiple categories, including Álvaro Dóyega in Men's Singles and Sabrina Méndez, who secured two titles in Mixed Doubles and Women's Doubles. The new circuit aims to expand the sport's reach and professionalize the discipline through structured competition.
