Pickleball popularity grows in Germany with new courts and courses
Pickleball is experiencing growing popularity in Germany, evidenced by new facility conversions and increased course demand. In Munich, the historic 1927 Munich Riding School in Schwabing has been repurposed. Using a specialized flooring system from Mapei, the former equestrian center has been transformed into four modern pickleball courts.
In Hamburg, the large leisure sports club sportspaß e. V. is expanding its pickleball program at the Berliner Tor Sportcenter. Following the complete exhaustion of its Friday afternoon sessions, the club will launch a second weekly course on Sundays starting October 4, 2026. Clemens Müller, the club's managing director, noted that the high demand reflects the significant interest in the sport within the city.
