Pickleball tournaments expand through community and charitable events
Local pickleball clubs and non-profit organizations are hosting community tournaments to promote the sport and support social causes.
The Lexington Pickleball Club recently held its inaugural Fall Autumn Dink Classic, which drew ninety participants from Lexington and surrounding areas. The tournament featured three skill levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced—using a pool format to ensure players could compete in multiple matches.
In a separate initiative, the non-profit RIZE Prevention is organizing the Dinkin’ Donuts Pickleball Tournament on November 21 at Pickle Yard Mauldin. This event aims to raise funds for youth advocacy, specifically focusing on substance misuse prevention, mental health education, and leadership development for teens and young adults in Upstate schools and community hubs.
