Piešťany to host IMAD 2026 military air show

The International Military Air Days (IMAD 2026) and celebrations for the Day of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic will take place at the Piešťany Airport on September 5 and 6. The event features a two-day program of military technology displays and aerial demonstrations, including performances by Slovak F-16 supersonic jets, Black Hawk and Mi-17 helicopters, Czech JAS-39 Gripens, and the Latvian Baltic Bees Jet Team.

To facilitate attendance, the Ministry of Defence has arranged free train travel to Piešťany from any location in Slovakia served by ZSSK. Passengers can obtain a ticket without a service fee by using the password ‘IMAD26’ at ZSSK ticket offices or on the train. Additionally, free shuttle buses will run every 30 minutes between the Piešťany station and the airport to alleviate traffic and parking concerns.
