Piedmont announces new funding for school orientation and disaster relief

The Piedmont Region has announced several major initiatives to support the education and professional development of its citizens.

To improve school orientation, the region is investing 11 million euros for the 2026-2028 period. This program aims to guide students aged 8 to 24 through their educational journeys, including company visits to bridge the gap between classrooms and the workforce. Additionally, nearly 6 million euros in new resources will bolster technical higher education, bringing the total investment for the 2026-2029 period to over 48 million euros for ITS Academy and IFTS paths.

In response to natural disasters, the regional government has also launched a pilot program to provide rapid assistance for schools damaged by extreme weather. Moving away from traditional fixed-deadline calls for tenders, a dedicated digital portal will allow local authorities to request emergency funds for repairs. This measure has an initial allocation of 300,000 euros for 2026 and 2027 to ensure the continuity of essential educational services.
