Italian regions announce new territorial plans and infrastructure investments

Several Italian regional authorities have announced significant administrative and economic developments. In Piemonte, the Regional Council approved a new Regional Territorial Plan (PTR), updating the framework used since 2011. The new plan aims to coordinate territorial development through 33 integration areas, focusing on environmental sustainability, infrastructure, and a goal to reach zero soil consumption by 2050.

Additionally, the Piemonte Council has moved to initiate the process for recognizing the Oltregiogo area as an interregional tourist district. This initiative seeks to unite municipalities across the provinces of Alessandria, Genova, Piacenza, and Pavia to promote shared historical, cultural, and gastronomic assets.

In Liguria, 22 municipalities have applied for over 10.6 million euros in regional funding to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings. These investments, part of the Fesr Liguria 2021-2027 program, cover measures such as building insulation, window replacement, and renewable energy installation.

In Friuli, the industrial consortium Cosef approved a 2027-2029 industrial plan totaling 63.07 million euros. The funds are earmarked for urban development and infrastructure, including railway connections, road improvements, and the completion of a business center.
