Piedmont awards scholarships to 40 students as region proposes new prevention‑technician degree

The Fondazione SIA presented 101 scholarships to university students in Turin, awarding 40 recipients from the Piedmont provinces of Asti, Alessandria, Cuneo, Novara and Torino. The scholarships support studies in scientific, technological, engineering and mathematical fields across 28 Italian universities.

Regional councilor Claudio Sacchetto (Fratelli d'Italia) has introduced a motion urging the Piedmont government to activate a university degree program in Technicians of Prevention for the Environment and Workplace in the province of Cuneo, preferably at the Savigliano campus, by the 2027‑2028 academic year. The proposal cites growing demand for professionals in health, safety, food hygiene and environmental protection, especially in Cuneo’s agro‑food sector.
