Piedmont Region allocates 2.18 million euros to combat violence against women

The Piedmont Region has approved the allocation of over 2.18 million euros to strengthen the protection and support network for women victims of violence. These resources, drawn from the Fund for policies related to rights and equal opportunities, are designated for anti-violence centers, shelters, and emergency and second-level reception solutions.

The funding breakdown includes approximately 863,466 euros for anti-violence centers, 706,491 euros for shelters, and roughly 307,877 euros each for urgent emergency reception and second-level reception solutions. The regional network currently comprises 23 anti-violence centers and 13 shelters operating in integration with local socio-sanitary and welfare services.

Regional Councilor for Equal Opportunities Marina Chiarelli stated that the measure aims to intercept warning signs and provide a reliable network of protection, psychological and legal assistance, and personalized care to prevent irreparable harm.
