Italian municipalities and regions approve 2025 consolidated budgets
Various Italian local administrations and regional bodies have moved to approve their 2025 consolidated budgets, reflecting diverse economic outcomes and political tensions.
In Piedmont, the Regional Council approved its 2025 consolidated budget, covering nearly thirty entities including health agencies and controlled companies. The session also addressed security concerns following recent protests in Turin and approved new regulations for ecomuseums and non-scheduled public transport.
In Francavilla Fontana, the City Council approved a consolidated budget showing a positive economic result of 23,234.22 euros and a net worth of 95.8 million euros. Additionally, the council ratified a 165,000 euro budget variation to secure a sports facility used during the Mediterranean Games.
Other regional updates include:
• Caserta: The Provincial Council approved a consolidated budget with assets reaching 755.6 million euros and a net worth of 331.2 million euros, alongside urban regeneration plans. • Martinsicuro: The administration reported a historic budget growth, with assets exceeding 90 million euros. • Sestri: The administration reported a 1 million euro surplus in its 2025 consolidated budget. • Catania: The council approved budget variations for digitalizing Suap procedures via Pnrr funds and supporting local libraries.
Conversely, some municipalities face scrutiny. In Cittanova, the local administration was excluded from a regional fund for plastic waste reduction. In Pandino, the opposition challenged the reliability of the consolidated budget, alleging it did not accurately represent the financial situation.
