Piedmont Region approves funding for Asti urban park

The Piedmont Region has granted definitive approval for the funding of the ‘Bosco degli Astigiani’ project in Asti. Approximately 700,000 euros will be allocated to the initiative from a larger 25.25 million euro regional fund dedicated to green infrastructure and ecological transition.

The project involves the creation of an urban public park spanning over 50,000 square meters in the northern area of Asti, near the Istituto Agrario Penna. The space is intended to include lawns, walkways, picnic areas, playgrounds, and artistic installations, utilizing bioarchitecture and sustainable design principles.

The development follows a participatory process, including a design competition held by the Municipality of Asti between 2024 and 2025 involving professionals and schools. Local entities, such as Banca di Asti, have also supported the initiative.
