Piedmont region faces severe weather and local developments

Severe weather across the Piedmont region has prompted over 260 interventions by the Vigili del Fuoco. In the provinces of Torino, Novara, and Vercelli, heavy rainfall has caused flooding and damage to building roofs. Specifically, in the Novara area, Arona and Borgomanero reported approximately 100 requests for assistance involving flooding, fallen trees, and road accidents.

In local administrative news, the municipality of Boca has received official certification from the Piedmont Region as a tourist destination. Additionally, Ghemme has secured funding from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to improve road safety in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.

In health and safety, the Italian Ministry of Health has issued an alert regarding a carrot-shaped elastic toy containing asbestos (tremolite). Meanwhile, the ASL VCO has announced that a new community hospital in Gravellona is expected to open by the end of the year, following a 3.8 million euro construction project to provide 20 beds.
