Piedmont Region launches new phase of Common Ground 2 to combat labor exploitation

Partners of the Common Ground 2 project met at the Piedmont Region Service Center to establish operational priorities for the next phase of the initiative. The project aims to strengthen prevention measures to identify individuals at risk of labor exploitation earlier and to ensure faster, more effective protection pathways.

The Piedmont Region, acting as the lead entity, emphasized the need to foster a culture of awareness and increase involvement from employers. Key objectives include implementing training and information campaigns to recognize exploitation, strengthening territorial networks for information exchange, and enhancing inclusion and support services for those identified. Regional Councilor for Security and Immigration, Enrico Bussalino, noted that an effective response requires coordinated action across prevention, sensitization, and initial reception and protection measures.
