Three injured after heavy truck overturns on Turin‑Volpiano highway

On Thursday 30 July 2026 a heavy truck travelling towards the Aosta Valley overturned near the Volpiano interchange on the highway between Settimo Torinese and Volpiano. The driver and a passenger were trapped in the cab, and a total of three people suffered injuries. One victim with serious injuries was air‑lifted in red code to the CTO hospital in Turin, while the other two were taken in green code to the hospital in Chivasso.

The incident involved a chain collision of three vehicles – two heavy trucks and a car – and forced authorities to close the highway segment in both directions. Firefighters from the Turin‑Stura station, police road units and medical teams, including a rescue helicopter, carried out the extraction and treatment. Traffic was halted for several hours before a gradual reopening began after safety checks were completed.
