Piedmont regional updates: Rice industry defense and infrastructure projects

Various regional developments are taking place across the Piedmont region of Italy. At the Risò international rice festival in Vercelli, Coldiretti representatives and government officials, including Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida, are meeting to discuss defending the 100% Italian rice industry against climate change and low-cost imports.

In Biella, the Lega party is hosting the ‘Lega delle idee’ event to discuss economic growth, special economic zones, and local security reforms. Additionally, Atc Piemonte Nord has completed a major elevator modernization project across 151 sites in the region, including Biella and Valsesia, representing a total investment of over 3.2 million euros.

In Asti, the regional government has added 17 extra trains to the schedule to support the Festival delle Sagre, aiming to improve accessibility and reduce road traffic during the food festival. Meanwhile, the Biella area is hosting numerous cultural and outdoor activities, including the Fuoriluogo literary festival and various exhibitions.
